CSL-T0.5 Temperature Logger
The CSL-T0.5 temperature logger offers highly accurate temperature measurements at an affordable price. The device uses small-footprint thermistors, ensuring superior accuracy and fast response times. Each unit is carefully calibrated and rigorously tested in various harsh environments. The CSL-T0.5 operates reliably in extreme weather conditions (-40 to +85 °C), recording and saving data on its internal memory for later analysis. When connected to a CredoSense Display Unit, it provides real-time monitoring of temperature and relative humidity.
Versatile Design
The CSL-T0.5 temperature logger is thin and lightweight, built with industry-grade materials to withstand strong forces, such as the weight of a bear in the forest or a car driving over it. You can easily hang the device with a zip tie from a pole or a tree branch to get your readings. Although finding the logger can be challenging, especially in dense forests full of fallen leaves or green agricultural fields, the bright color of the CSL-T0.5 makes it easier to locate.
Thermal Isolation from Internal Circuitry for Enhanced Accuracy
Every circuit board in a temperature logger generates heat during operation, which can significantly affect sensor readings. Many temperature loggers on the market overlook this issue in their designs. However, in the CSL-T0.5 temperature logger, we have carefully positioned the sensor (Figure 1) to minimize the impact of internal heat on sensor readings. Consequently, this ensures more accurate and reliable data.

Easy Setup and Data Management
Setting up the CSL-T0.5 temperature recorder is straightforward. First, connect the device to a reader (CreDock, sold separately), then connect the CreDock to your computer as shown in Figure 2.

Designed to Last
The CSL-T0.5 temperature logger uses commonly available CR2450 batteries, which are replaceable via a dedicated battery port, allowing for multiple uses of the logger. We recommend using high-quality brand batteries such as Renata CR2450N (-40 to +85°C), Energizer (-30 to +60°C), Murata (-20 to +60°C), and Panasonic (-30 to +60°C) to ensure optimal performance. Moreover, a good-quality battery will typically provide the battery life shown in Table 1.
Checking the battery’s specifications during purchase is also important because the CSL-T0.5 temperature logger can only operate within the operating range of the batteries. For example, if the CSL-T0.5 operates within the range of -40 to 85 °C but you have chosen a battery that only operates up to -20 °C, the temperature logger will stop working when the temperature goes below -20 °C and will show a low-battery status for a while. Therefore, select a battery that aligns with the temperature logger’s operating temperature range.
Logging interval (mins) | Average consumption (µA) | Battery life (approx.) |
1 | 193.17 | 45 Days |
5 | 46.63 | 7 Months |
30 | 16.106 | 19 Months |
60 | 13.052 | 24 Months |

Versatile LED Indicators and Alarms
The CSL-T0.5 temperature logger features an RGB LED that changes color based on the device’s status and readings.
- Alarm Status: It blinks green every 60 seconds when measuring temperatures within the alarm limits (if the alarm is on). It flashes red every 60 seconds when the temperature exceeds the upper alarm limit, and it blinks blue every 60 seconds when the temperature falls below the lower alarm limit. To conserve battery life, the LED alarm can be turned off using CredoWare.
- Operational Status: You can also check the device status by pressing the START/STOP button once. The LED indicator will display:
- Green: The device is operational.
- Red:
- The device is not operational.
- Low-battery—try to start logging, and if it does not start, it indicates a low-battery status.
This system ensures that you can easily monitor the status and functionality of your temperature logger.
Ideal for Accurate Temperature Monitoring
The CSL-T0.5 temperature logger boasts a measurement accuracy of ±0.5 °C. For a wide range of temperatures, it maintains an accuracy of up to ±0.1 °C, which is impressive given its cost-effectiveness. Figure 4 shows the accuracy graph for the CSL-T0.5 temperature logger, illustrating its reliable performance across various temperatures.
